Brief Review of Apple's Presentation: What New Products Did the Company Show?

One of the most expected events of the fall in the technology world took place on Tuesday, September 10 – the annual presentation of Apple. It took place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino (California, USA). For the first time in its history, Apple broadcast its presentation on YouTube. Let’s find out, what new products did the company show?

Apple Arcade

Apple Arcade gaming service was introduced first. As Apple promised, there will be no ads or in-app purchases, and access to them will be provided at a fixed price. At the presentation, company representatives finally announced the cost of the subscription and its features.

Apple said, that the Mac-compatible desktop version of Apple Arcade will appear a bit later. Obviously, the company just needs extra time to adapt games for macOS.

Subscription price – $4.99 (depending on the country)

Apple TV +

Apple TV + streaming service starts on November 1 in more than 100 countries and regions. Customers will be able to watch various exclusive shows that the company has planned in the past few months. Over time, exclusive content should receive professional dubbing in many languages of the world. The new service will be available in the Apple TV application on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, Mac and other platforms, as well as on tv.apple.com.

Subscription price – $4.99 (depending on the country)

iPad

The entry-level model now comes with a large 10.2-inch display. The new product is equipped with an outdated A10 fusion processor, but this tablet is positioned as a budget, so this was expected. There is support for a branded keyboard and Apple Pencil (though only the first generation).

Price – from $329

Apple Watch Series 5

In addition to the new compass feature, smartwatches have improved health monitoring features and the ability to access international emergency calls without a phone at hand in more than 150 countries.

The Apple Watch Series 5 is equipped with an energy-saving, always-on display that dims instead of turning off when you lower your hands. In this case, the charge should be enough for 18 hours. The Apple Watch Series 5 is available in a wider range of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, ceramics and a new titanium model – the company notes.

  • Apple Watch Series 5 (40 mm) – from $399;

iPhone 11

The 6.1-inch iPhone 11 is the most budget in the new line. It is presented in six colors, has a Retina display and a camera with two lenses. All models also have improved Face ID features that allow the user to unlock their phone faster. In addition, the battery life of the smartphone has slightly increased.

iPhone 11 is equipped with the new A13 Bionic processor and has increased water resistance.

Price – from $699

iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

The event’s headliners were the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro and the 6.5-inch 11 Pro Max. These iPhone models have improved OLED displays and are offered in four colors, including the new, dark green, which is likely to be the most popular.

The main feature was the improved cameras. Each Pro model will have a system with three lenses: telephoto, wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle. Several lenses shot at the same time, so the user can instantly switch between images to get different shots. This also works in the video. Each camera automatically focuses on the background to ensure smooth switching.

Other innovations include night mode in low light and the ability to shoot slow-mo selfies with the front camera. These models also have “extended the life” of the battery.

iPhone 11 Pro – from $999

iPhone 11 Pro Max – from $1099

Conclusion

It is worth remarking that this year Apple held a decent presentation, but all updates were highly anticipated and were not revolutionary in nature. According to rumors, global innovation awaits us in 2020.
