On May 13, Bandai America announced to the world community an updated version of the favorite plastic toy of the late 1990s “Tamagotchi” called Tamagotchi On. Informs Wired.
Like the original, released in 1996, “Tamagotchi On” will allow users to raise a virtual pet, feed it and care for it. The novelty also includes a game in the application, through which users get access to seasonal events, and also earn “Gotchi points” on purchases in the virtual store.
The application “Tamagotchi On” functions as a service for communicating with friends and exchanging gifts. It also has the function of finding partners, which you can later marry to create a new generation of virtual pets.
Since the launch of the toy, about 50 versions of Tamagotchi have already been released. In 2013, an improved version was released as a free mobile application called “Tamagotchi L.i.f.e.” followed by “Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. Angel” released in 2014.
This version will be paid and cost $59.99.
