Uber Company has Launched Taxi Service that Offers Underwater Transportation

On May 23, Uber Australia in partnership with Tourism Queensland announced the launch of a new project scUber. Within the framework of cooperation residents and visitors of the harbour are offered the world’s first rideshare submarine experience which will open the opportunity for fauna lovers to go on an underwater journey on the Great Barrier Reef.

The Australian harbour extends on 1429 miles, its area is larger than the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Switzerland taken together. The underwater world consists of more than 3,000 individual reefs and 1,500 species of fish.

Uber users from each of the six participating countries including the USA have a chance to win a free ride.

For residents of Queensland there is also a competition. Australians from Cairns and Port Douglas can register in the Uber app at 7:30 in the morning and write “The Great Barrier Reef” as a destination.

Everyone else can buy a ticket for $3000.

“Uber is committed to harnessing the power of technology for good”, said Susan Anderson, Regional General Manager of Uber.

The company stated it would donate 100,000 Australian dollars (54,000 US dollars) to the program to support the Great Barrier Reef.
