Within Five Years USA will Send a Woman Astronaut to the Moon

As it became known, USA plans to send a manned mission to the natural satellite of the Earth in the next five years. It is noteworthy that this time a woman joins the team. It means that she will be the first woman who has ever stepped on the surface of the Moon.

Yesterday, on March 26th, the fifth meeting of the National Space Council was held in Huntsville. The vice president of the USA Mike Pence was a speaker at the event. According to him, preparations for this mission are underway and he expects that in the coming years American astronauts will again land on the surface of the moon.

“It is the stated policy of this administration and the United States of America to return astronauts to the moon within the next five years”, he said.

He also added that this time a woman astronaut will be part of the mission.

Recall, the first time when people landed on the Moon was on July 20th, 1969. After that, another 5 successful landings of astronauts on the surface of a satellite of our planet were made (up to 1972). Then NASA ended the Apollo program and to this day people no longer flew to the moon.
