Vinnik is Bad but Does Not Stop the Hunger Strike
The suspect in money laundering in the amount of about 4 billion US dollars through the BTC-e exchange, Russian Alexander Vinnik is currently in a difficult emotional and physical condition. According to his lawyer Timofei Musatov, the defendant is in a state of shock, but he does not intend to stop the hunger strike. “We have ten days to appeal. In order to prepare it, we need access to documents, which is currently lacking. We have not been fully provided with the entire evidence that must be presented to us so far. Besides, we need to have free access to Alexander Vinnik, but we don`t have it” the lawyer emphasized. Lawyer argues that Vinnik is being held in the French hospital Pitié Salpêtrière, which is in fact a prison with doctors and medical equipment. “His condition is terrible, yesterday made it clear to him that what was happening in Greece is nothing, and legal proceedings in France is not better for him, because yesterday`s legal proceedings were held with a catastrophic violation of all his rights”. Musatov added that his client did not eat for 40 days and currently needs both medical and psychological help.  Earlier we wrote that the first hearing in Vinnik case was held in a French hospital in a closed session.
