Nintendo Denies Reports about Trade-in for New Switch Models

Earlier last week, there were rumors in the media about an exchange program for Nintendo Switch owners who want to switch to new models. According to these reports, Nintendo will offer free update for those who purchased the console after July 17, when a new model with improved battery life was announced. However, later company representatives said that these messages were untrue: “We do not have a Nintendo Switch exchange program. We always want players to enjoy their Nintendo Switch systems, and if anything ever gets in the way of that, we encourage them to visit for support, or to contact our consumer support team.” It is worth noting that the new and old models look the same, but there is one significant difference: battery life. After active testing, many users came to the conclusion that the new model has from 4.5 to 9 hours of battery life, compared with the predecessor's range of 2.5 to 6.5 hours at various loads. Of course, another new switch model with a much more radical design is on the way. Besides, we remind you that on September 20, the company launches Nintendo Switch Lite, a smaller and cheaper console designed exclusively for portable games.
