Tesla Launched a Car Insurance Product, but Soon the Site was Blocked
Just hours after Tesla launched its own auto insurance product in California on August 28, the company stopped offer prices and suspended access to the insurance website. Representatives of the company claim that they found “errors” that affected the quotes of the rates of some customers but note that they refused to disclose any details besides this. The company said it would restore the website as soon as it was decided, without saying a specific time frame. The site did not work for almost 24 hours, but it seems that the company's specialists were able to restore access to it. It disappointed some of the company's customers, as Tesla promised rates 20% lower than competitors. The new service can give Tesla the opportunity to increase profits with a product that does not require as much cost as the process of designing and manufacturing cars.
