Roskomnadzor Demands to Block Telegram
The Moscow court has received a lawsuit demanding to limit access to Pavel Durov's messenger Telegram on the territory of Russia. This was reported by representatives of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Communication, Information Technology and Mass Communications of Russia (Roskomnadzor). The statement reads as follows:
“The claim was filed in connection with the Russian Federal Security Service's failure to comply with Telegram Messenger Limited Liability Partnership obligations of the organizer of the dissemination of information established by clause 4.1 of Article 10.1 of the Law On Information”.
Roskomnadzor officials said they filed a lawsuit after Telegram Messenger LLP refused to provide the Federal Security Service with the keys to decrypt messenger users' correspondence. The company of Pavel Durov had to fulfill the requirements of the FSB by the 4th of April, but the developers refused to do so. Subscribe to The Coin Shark news in Telegram:
