French regulator (AMF) will not allow Binance to enter Paris without AML

Binance in France will not open a headquarters until it improves AML compliance. This was announced by the local financial regulator AMF.

The cryptocurrency exchange has recently planned to change its concept. Its CEO said that France could be one of the suitable options for creating a headquarters, since the exchange has no problems with local regulators.

However, Zhao Zhangpeng was wrong. Financial regulators in France said they are not ready to accept the exchange on French territory until it puts things in order. This was announced by the governor of the French central bank.

To establish a regional hub for its exchange in Paris, Binance needs to rethink its business processes and comply with the financial authorities' anti-money laundering requirements.

Recall that earlier in November, the CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced that the French capital could become the location of the exchange's new headquarters. This can happen in 6-12 months.

This decision was made after a joint project between Binance and the French organization France FinTech. The companies have created a unique blockchain project Objective Moon with a budget of $ 116 million. It aims to develop the digital asset industry in Europe.
