The main programmer of Dogecoin left the development team
Ross Nicholl, who led the work on the Dogecoin project, announced his imminent departure from the project. He cited frequent stress and a possible conflict of interest as reasons, as Google, where he works, begins developing blockchain projects.
According to Nicholl, he is leaving the position of the developer, but will remain an adviser. He will hand over all the documentation for the work to the Dogecoin Foundation. This is the Foundation, which began operations in 2014, then stopped working on the development of the project, but, having received the support of Buterin and Musk in 2021, again took up work on the digital currency blockchain.
Recall that Vitalik Buterin and Jared Birchall, who works for Elon Musk, are advisors to the Dogecoin Foundation. Their task is to observe the activities of the fund, control the development of cryptocurrency and protect interests.
As Ross Nicholl previously admitted, the Dogecoin Foundation has been actively collaborating with Elon Musk since 2019. Thanks to his ideas, it was possible to increase the speed of transactions, reduce energy consumption during mining, in order to strengthen its position and promote the meme-cryptocurrency among other projects.
