No Android On Huawei Mobile Phones: Chinese Tech Giant Was Blacklisted

This week, one of the biggest Chinese tech giant, Huawei, has been blacklisted by the U.S. government. It means, from now on Huawei is no longer allowed to use Android as a mobile operating system or integrate any possible Android updates.

The decision was made as a consequence of the U.S.-China trade war, the superstate is afraid that Huawei can ‘undermine US national security or foreign policy interests’.

According to the report posted by Reuters, Google revealed some details about further interaction with Huawei, citing:

“Huawei will only be able to use the public version of Android and will not be able to get access to proprietary apps and services from Google.”

Huawei, in its term, anticipated such development, thereby, had started building its own operating system quite long ago. The founder and chief executive of Huawei Technologies, Ren Zhengfei, is sure that ban would not destroy their company, though admitted that such restrictions may result in 20% less profit than predicted in the coming year, citing

“It is expected that Huawei’s growth may slow, but only slightly.”
