Experts of the leading American car manufacturer Ford, for more than a year, have been developing an “electric crossover with Mustang features”. The company decided to invest an additional 900 million US dollars in the construction lines, which will be needed for the mass production of the future electric car.
Recall that right at the time when Elon Musk was telling the world about their new budget crossover from the scene, the company Ford in its official micro-blog Twitter published a comic post with a luminous Mustang logo and the short text: “Hold your horses”

A few days later, an official representative of the company, Joe Hinrichs, in an interview with CNBC told, that by the time the new Tesla crossover will be introduced into mass production (autumn 2020 – spring 2021), consumers will already have an excellent alternative from Ford. Recall that the price range of the Tesla Model Y varies from $39 to $60 thousand US dollars. Most likely the new car from Ford will be sold at approximately the same prices.
It is worth noting that there are no officially confirmed technical characteristics of this model, but presumably the new electric car from Ford will be able to drive up to 500 kilometers on one charge.
Ford has serious plans to enter the electric car market. Representatives of the company announced additional investments in the amount of $900 million to modernize their own factories in Michigan and Quautitlan. The total amount of investments in the electrification of their cars is 11 billion dollars. The company plans to release 16 electric vehicles until 2022. The first electric car has the working name Ford Mach E and it will go into mass production in the fall of 2020.
