Law Enforcers Found More Than 20,000 Routers Infected by Cryptocurrency Miners
Interpol reported on a joint large-scale operation with Trend micro, aimed at eliminating hidden miners in Asia. During five months of hard work, specialists managed to identify more than 20,000 routers that were infected with viruses for the background mining of digital coins, as became known. It turned out, scammers found a vulnerability in MicroTik equipment and successfully used this. This operation was carried out in Laos, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
