The Last Block Before Halving Contained An Important Message

Miners of the first cryptocurrency intentionally added a rather symbolic message to the last block before halving. In it, they compared the current financial situation and the global financial crisis that occurred due to the real estate bubble in 2008.

The authors of the message are miners from F2Pool, they wrote the following:

“NYTimes 09/Apr/2020 With $2.3T Injection, Fed's Plan Far Exceeds 2008 Rescue”

This was the way they quoted the title of the first page of the largest US publication, the New York Times, dated April 9, 2020.

By doing this, the miners paid tribute to Satoshi Nakamoto, since he left a similar message in block zero on January 3, 2009:

“The chancellor is ready to provide repeated assistance to banks”, – reads the headline of The Times, a British newspaper, January 3, 2009.

Bitcoin was created during the last financial crisis in 2008. The Fed’s actions 12 years ago and now differ only in scale, therefore, the need for BTC is becoming increasingly obvious in the current environment.
