Kraken Acquired The Oldest Cryptocurrency Exchange in Australia
Representatives of one of America’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges Kraken have officially announced the acquisition of the Australian Bit Trade exchange. This platform was founded back in 2013, which means it is the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges in Australia among existing. Due to this deal, Kraken plans to strengthen its presence in the Asia-Pacific region and to become the largest exchange in Australia. Also, Kraken officials said they hoped this would strengthen their position in the OTC trading. Recall that the site acquired the OTC platform from Circle in December 2019. Kraken company is intended to develop a single interface for both institutional and retail customers to work with. “In the short term, Bit Trade will continue under its current brand and operate business as usual.  As part of the acquisition, we are pleased to welcome the Bit Trade team led by Jonathon Miller who will be Managing Director for Kraken in Australia.” – the exchange claimed.
