What is ASIK?

How to start mining on ASIKs?

If you decide to start mining on ASICs, the first thing you need to do is choose the hardware. But that is not all. Let's consider each step in detail:

1. Select the ASIK model

First of all, decide on the coin you want to mine - this will shorten the list of potential devices. For example, if you want to mine LTC, the Antminer L3 + is a great choice. But at the same time, this ASIC is not suitable for mining BTC.

When the list shrinks a bit, check out the specs for each potential device. Be sure to take into account the ASIK hashrate and its power consumption. On this site you can familiarise yourself with the main characteristics of different ASIK models, as well as calculate their profitability. To do this, enter the cost of electricity in dollars. For example, if you enter a value of $ 0.06, mining BTC on Antminer S19 Pro will bring about $30 in net profit per day (as of March 25, 2021).

4. Start mining

It is impossible to predict how long a cryptocurrency will stay in this state, and equipment prices are often overpriced. Plus, electricity tariffs are unlikely to go down. Nonetheless, mining can bring you high profits.

  • Complexity of management

Please note that ASIKs have very few interchangeable parts. That is, if you, for example, bought ASIK from Innosilicon, you will not be able to install spare parts from Bitmain on it if something happens. You will have to look for the Innosilicon details. However, some details are still interchangeable. For example, the Bitmain S17 and T17 series models have interchangeable control boards. Bitmain devices also have the same fans.

  • Price

ASIKi are not the cheapest equipment, and their cost depends on their performance. Having decided on a model, do not buy it in the first store. It is better to compare the prices of several sellers so as not to overpay. Also remember that the newest ASIK models are usually the most expensive - don't buy them right after they hit the market. If you like their characteristics, wait a while. First, the cost of ASICs will decrease. Secondly, you can read the reviews of their owners and see if they really suit you.
