Startup Sorare partners with the NBA to launch a gaming platform

The well-known French blockchain startup Sorare has announced an agreement with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to launch a platform for a fantasy game using NFT cards. Also, as part of a new partnership with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), an agreement was signed on all kinds of assistance in the implementation of the project.

This fall, an official licensed game called "Sorare: NBA" is expected to launch. Similar to other Sorare startup projects, gamers will be given the opportunity to buy and sell digital NFT cards with images of basketball players.

Users will be able to form teams themselves. Points will be earned based on the performance of teams and athletes in the regular NBA championships. Both critics and analysts note that this is far from the first attempt to use NFT technology in the basketball world.
