Google is adding two new features to its Google Lens application, TechCrunch reports. Now the already existing “Text”, “Auto” and “Shopping” will be replenished with “Dining” and “Translate”. The interface of the app with 5 modes now reminds Instagram’s carousel.
With the help of “Dining” option, the users can take a picture of the menu in the cafe/restaurant they are planning to eat at, and the service will highlight the most popular dishes in the actual menu. Moreover, if you tap on a specific dish, you will be able to see what it looks like and what other people have to say about it.
“Translate” feature that supports around 100 languages will detect the language of the text within the camera lens, translate it and project the translated version on top of the original one.
Google Lens is available in Google Assistant for Android and in Google Photos for iOS.
