Google has become a partner of the streaming blockchain platform Theta
Representatives of Theta, a streaming platform based on blockchain technology, announced a partnership with Google. The brainchild of Sergey Brin will become a corporate network validator, as well as provide access to its own cloud infrastructure.
The first validator in Europe
The Google node will be located in Ireland, it will be confirmed by 5 million THETA tokens ($1.77 million at the current rate). The main search engine will become the fifth corporate validator of Theta network and the first in Europe.
It is not for the first time when Theta signs a large partnership, earlier such companies as Binance, Blockchain Ventures, and Gumi Crypto has become its validators. The company plans to increase the number of corporate validators to 31.
Google Cloud Premium
Due to the deal, Theta will be able to get premium access to the Google Cloud service.
“Theta is unique in that their video delivery network needs both a reliable, high-performance network – which we provide via our premium network tier – as well as reputable node operators to ensure protocol security,” said Google Cloud developer advocate Allen Day.
Rise and fall
The THETA rate has grown rapidly by 35% amidst this news, but as of the time of writing, quotes have returned back to their original values.
