Coinbase ajoutera la prise en charge d'Apple Pay et de Google Pay
The use of debit and credit cards in synergy with cryptocurrencies is gaining momentum around the world. American exchange Coinbase has informed customers that they will now be able to use the Coinbase Card when paying for purchases using Apple Pay and Google Pay installed on their smartphones.
According to representatives of the exchange, for some time this functionality will be available only to a limited number of users included in a certain "white list". Then, if tested successfully, this feature will be extended to all Coinbase Card holders.
As a pleasant bonus for its clients, the exchange offers up to 4% "crypto cashback" per card. Thus, by spending money using the Coinbase Card, users will receive a 1% reward in the equivalent of the main cryptocurrency or 4% if they prefer “cashback” in the form of XLM.
Recall that Coinbase became the direct issuer of Visa cards back in the winter of 2020, and already in March of the same year, Coinbase customers were able to use cards in Google Pay. In addition, the popularity of making payments using smartphones has grown by almost 30% over the past year alone.
Drawing attention to its own debit card could play into the hands of Coinbase, attracting even more retail investors and thereby increasing institutional offerings.
