The American magazine Forbes presented the rating of the richest owners of cryptocurrency, emphasizing that this is an approximate estimate of the capital. The rating includes Vitalik Buterin and Valery Vavilov.
The first position of the list was occupied by the co-founder of the Ripple platform Chris Larsen with an estimated capital of $7.5-8 billion. Forbes points out that due to the growth of XPR in January, Larsen was able to take the 15th place in the rating of America’s richest people.
The second place was given to the head of the blockchain company Consensys and the co-founder of Ethereum Joseph Lubin with a capital of $1-5 billion. The top three is concluded by the executive director of the crypto exchange Binance Changpeng Zhao with a capital of $1.1-2 billion.
The rating included well-known “first bitcoin billionaires” brothers Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. Their joint capital is estimated at $0.9-1.1 billion.
The list also includes a native of Latvia, Valery Vavilov, who is the co-founder of the BitFury blockchain start-up. According to Forbes, Vavilov owns $500-700 million. Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin owns cryptocurrency in the amount of $400-500 million.
Forbes counted the capital of the participants of the rating based on the data on their stocks of digital currency, profit after taxation and share in crypto projects. The authors of the list emphasize that there is a high probability that not all cryptillionaires have entered it. All calculations were made as of January the 19th, 2018.
