Baillie Gifford has invested $100 million in Blockchain.com
One of the UK's biggest investment firms, Baillie Gifford, invested $100 million in London-based crypto wallet provider Blockchain.com in a final round of funding.
And although the round ended in March this year, the CEO of Blockchain.com decided to share the results with the public only now. He also added that BG's offering was the biggest single investment ever made by the London-based firm.
Today, Baillie Gifford firm manages over $443B in portfolios and earned as fixed income from a multi-million dollar client base. According to the CEO of Blockchain.com, the $100 million is one of the first investments by a British investment firm in a digital currency-related organization. In addition to Baillie Gifford, Series C funding was co-financed by Lightspeed Ventures, VY Capital and partners from DST Global. At the same time, Blockchain.com itself was valued at $5.2 billion.
