Financial Times: The Payment Service will be Integrated into the WhatsApp Messenger

Facebook announced its intention to integrate the payment solution into the messenger of the subsidiary WhatsApp – Forbes reports with reference to the Financial Times article.

For this purpose, the giant of social networks plans to replenish its staff with another 100 employees. The new staff will be involved in the development of payments, as well as products that focus on increasing the level of security and fighting spam in the application.

According to the publication, the choice fell on the UK, because WhatsApp is more popular there rather than in the US.

Last week, the founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of WhatsApp mobile payments later this year.

I think payments is one of the areas where we have an opportunity to make it a lot easier. I believe that it should be as easy to send money to someone as it is to send a photo, – he said at an F8 developer conference.

The company chose London as a payment incentive center through the WhatsApp messaging service. Such a step can help the city to become a global fintech center, and Facebook – to monetize a rapidly growing platform.
