Fiat Partnering with Google and Samsung to Create Global Car Ecosystem

The company has entered into a partnership agreement with Samsung Harman and Google to develop a global road transport ecosystem. According to an article published by Reuters, the official launch will take place in the second half of this year, and by 2022 it will be integrated into all new vehicles of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“By selecting industry leaders such as Samsung and Google, we are making efficient and responsible utilization of capital to provide advanced technological solutions to our customers worldwide,” Harald Wester, FCA’s chief technical officer, said in a statement.

This partnership is aimed at expanding and improving the services of the automaker, starting with software updates and ending with the prediction of service needs.

The new platform will work on Android, which will ensure fast and wireless interaction with customers’ mobile devices. The system will also allow you to download updates through an integrated cellular network, providing modern opportunities in the framework of not only connected services, but also self driving and electrification.
