Facebook Employees had Access to Pages of Millions Users
Representatives of the biggest social network Facebook have officially confessed that they had been keeping files with passwords of millions of their users in the clear. It means that some corporation employees had access to this data. We are talking about a huge amount of pages and to be more exact - hundreds of millions of profiles which use a lite version of the site - Facebook Lite. It is created for users who live in such regions where problems with high-speed internet occur. Facebook representatives claim that this data has never gone beyond the company. This vulnerability was discovered by corporation specialists coincidentally during a regular security check in January this year. Now the problem is solved and those users whose passwords were compromised will be notified. The corresponding statement was published on the official company’s blog:
"There is nothing more important to us than protecting people’s information, and we will continue making improvements as part of our ongoing security efforts at Facebook", representatives of the social network stated.
