Exchanges Control More Than 10% of All Bitcoins
Representatives of the analytical company Glassnode informed a tenth of all bitcoins available on the market is under the cryptocurrency exchanges` control. Such a statement was published on the official Glassnode Twitter. One of the researchers of the aforementioned company, Charles Edwards believes that while the cryptocurrency community is talking about the exponential growth of bitcoin, it is turning into a centralized currency more and more. For example, the number of coins controlled by exchanges has grown seven times over the past 36 months, and the trend continues to move in the same direction. According to, Coinbase currently owns about 5% of all available bitcoins on the market.
