Binance will reimburse the Brazilian trader stolen funds
A medical student from Brazil appealed to the court against the BINANCE cryptocurrency exchange, complaining about the loss of all funds in the account during the hacking of his account.
Hack occurred in 2021. In one day the owner of the account went to his account and did not see funds in the account. It turned out that his bitcoins were kidnapped by unknown fraudsters.
The account has information that I went to his account at least four different IP addresses before the funds were removed. All IP were other countries. In his claim, the victim pointed out that he did not leave the limits of Brazil.
In response to the claim, the Binance support service noted that the user did not use two-factor authentication and did not confirm the email. This contributed to the hacking account.
However, in spite of the official position of the stock exchange, the Brazilian court ruled in favor of the plaintiff. On January 31, 2022, the Court ordered the Binance to return the stolen means on the claimant's balance sheet, but freed from paying a fine for moral damage. Also, the BINANCE should pay legal costs in the amount of 1000 real.
