PUMA has registered a domain with the Ethereum Name Service
A manufacturer of branded sportswear is aiming for the Metaverse. The company acquired the ENS domain and changed its Twitter account address to PUMA.eth.
A URL with this prefix is a tokenized address. It is not only a link to the site, but also an avatar, email, and a wallet address for transferring cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and other digital assets.
As for the Puma ENS domain, it can be used to dive into the world of NFTs. For example, releasing collections for fans or promoting individual products, as Samsung recently did for Galaxy S22 buyers in South Korea.
Puma is not alone in its decision. Its closest competitors Nike and Adidas have long been conquering the world of blockchain, collaborating with many projects in GameFi and other areas.
Many companies also have crypto addresses. For example, beer maker Budweiser has a Beer.eth url that was purchased for 30 ETH. Puma itself has quite a few NFTs in its collection. Basically, these are cat-themed art tokens — CatBlox, Lazy Lions, Gutter Cat and others.
