Nvidia lanzará tarjetas de video con un hashrate reducido
Nvidia announced a new "wave" of restrictions for RTX 30 series video cards. The company has previously tried to reduce the hash rate of RTX 3060 models, but then a group of miners managed to lift the limit in less than a week.
One of the largest manufacturers of computer hardware is a key link not only in Ethereum mining but also in the gaming industry. Nvidia has apparently chosen the side of gamers in this conflict that has escalated in recent years.
After announcing the hashrate reduction, the manufacturer mentioned the products of the latest released line of video cards. We are talking about the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 3070, and 3080. Rumors or any specifics about a potential GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and a "lightweight" version of the GeForce RTX 3090 have not yet appeared.
In a blog post, Nvidia noted that consumers themselves are finding applications for new graphics cards - from weather modeling and genome sequencing to deep learning and robotics. Mining has become one such application.
The manufacturer has promised to release the first batch of "limited" video cards at the end of May this year. So that consumers do not finally get confused in the model range, all video cards with a cut hash rate will have the identifier “Lite Hash Rate” or “LHR”.
Nvidia also mentioned that the restrictions will not affect previously released graphics cards in any way and expressed hope that such a move will help gamers finally get more graphics cards.
In the community, meanwhile, jokes have already spread about how quickly enthusiasts will be able to bypass the company's restrictions this time.
