La cadena de hoteles de lujo de EE. UU. Comienza a aceptar criptomonedas
An elite hotel chain in the United States has announced its readiness to accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. According to a press release from Kessler Collection, the brand has struck a deal with BitPay.
BitPay is a platform that allows users to accept payments for services and goods in the equivalent of digital currencies. At the moment, the partnership suggests that visitors to the luxury hotel chain Kessler will be able to pay with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin. According to the docs, there will also be four stablecoins available as a means of payment: USDC, GUSD, BUSD, and PAX.
The CEO of Kessler said that cryptocurrencies are one of the most innovative things in the hotel business today. In his opinion, the cryptocurrency will soon gain even more recognition, and the partnership with BitPay will expand the range of services for their customers.
Given the fact that the coronavirus has not disappeared anywhere, there is some truth in the words of the director of Kessler. Although the travel industry has been hit by the pandemic, airlines, travel agencies and other travel industry representatives have tried to adapt to the new reality by introducing digital currency payments. This has proven particularly relevant today, with an eye on the success of Amazon and other major online retailers.
In addition to payments in cryptocurrencies, the tourism industry is also interested in blockchain solutions to combat the further spread of COVID-19. For example, Air France has already announced that it is testing a blockchain system to check the coronavirus test results of its passengers.
