En Rusia, prefiera Bitcoin

AFD conducted a survey among Russian investors, which showed that investing in Bitcoin is much more attractive than in gold.

According to the survey, investors see cryptocurrencies as a more promising and dynamic investment tool, as opposed to gold.

According to the survey, in the first three quarters of this year, 77% of investments were made in cryptocurrencies, 14% in foreign currencies and only 9% were invested in gold. Perhaps such a low interest in the precious metal is due to the fact that in Russia gold bars have the highest value added tax in the world, which is 20%.

AFD's management concluded that Russian investors have noticeably changed their minds regarding digital currencies and began to view cryptocurrencies as promising investments, and not as a phantom product of deception. Despite the large number of short-term crypto projects, more than 50% of investors choose digital currencies as savings and to increase capital.

The company also added that among the respondents, 35% are active cryptocurrency traders, 23% have no experience with digital assets (but 80% of this group want to try their hand in the future) and less than 8% of respondents categorically stated that they never will invest in crypto assets.

Despite the interest of investors in cryptocurrency assets, the Russian authorities are very skeptical of this asset class, as of high-risk assets. For example, the head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, warned potential investors. Rough investments in this type of assets, due to the instability of bitcoin and altcoins, are much more dangerous than traditional assets and can lead to catastrophic losses.
