In order to combat the exploitation of children on its platform, the video hosting service YouTube imposed a ban on video broadcasting by children under 13 years old without being accompanied by adults. Channels that do not comply with the new policy will be blocked.
Recent policy changes to YouTube were made to protect children from pedophiles.
Youtuber Matt Watson, highlighted this problem in February, trying to draw media attention to the shortcomings of the algorithm.
YouTube reports that it is working hard to solve this problem. The service advertises the YouTube Kids application as a way for children to interact with the platform safely.
But, as we see, the problem is not so easy to solve, mainly because of the huge popularity of the platform. YouTube representatives noted that over 800,000 videos have already been removed for breaking the rules.
