The international taxi call service showed the world its new development – a drone for delivering Uber Eats orders. The company’s engineers have developed a special mechanism for rotating wings with six rotors, which will allow the drone to better cope with vertical take-off, as well as withstand wind gusts.
A drone can fly up to 28 km on one charge without cargo and up to 19 km with cargo. The flight altitude is 120 meters.
At the moment, it is known that the device has passed a critical analysis of the design, and field tests should begin this year. The company plans to launch this service in 2020, and San Diego will be the first place to order food delivery with a drone.
