The US Senate Intelligence Committee concluded that electoral systems were hacked by hackers connected to the Russian government throughout the country (that is, in all 50 states). Recall that previously it was assumed that hackers entered into 21 states, and in 2017 the committee sounded the figure of 39 states, but based on the latest report, everything turned out to be much more serious than was supposed.
The report says that if the US presidential elections were held next Sunday, Russia could easily intervene in this process:
“Russian cyber actors were in a position to delete or change voter data,” – said the report.
It is worth noting that the data in this report are partly secret, so its corresponding sections are painted black. That is why, it is not clear how confident the committee is in this and what evidence they have. But this information confirms the assumptions of the Cyber Coordinator of the National Security Council, Michael Daniel, who previously stated that each state was hacked.
