The Dutch government has decided to increase the sentences for digital currency fraud. The local publication NLTimes informs, authorities have already developed a bill.
The document tells an increase in the prison term for illegal actions with various fintech applications and cryptocurrencies, up to 6 years, while current punishment for similar crimes in the country is 1 to 4 years in jail.
Also, this bill provides an increase in the sentence for falsifying data on payments, credit cards, phishing, and much more.
The government believes that this initiative will restrain attackers who have recently been causing damage to a large number of people.
