As you may have heard, the Ukrainian revolution in 2014 led to some drastic consequences. One of them was decommunization which basically meant getting rid of anything related to the Soviet Union times.
A couple of years ago, there were thousands of monuments of Vladimir Lenin in Ukraine, now they are all gone due to decommunization. Some of the empty places left after them were occupied by something else, others remained ruined.
A Ukrainian activist group Satoshi Nakamoto Republic made an offer to create the monuments of a possible Bitcoin’s creator Satoshi Nakamoto. The monument, however, will be virtual. Citizens of Kyiv and guests of the city will be able to see it only through a special app on their electronic devices, according to CCN.
To bring their plans into life, the organization will first have to get permission from the city administration. Nevertheless, one of the group members Andrey Moroz is quite enthusiastic about their idea.
“The monument to Lenin was a symbol of last centuries that had already passed, leaving conflicting feelings in the hearts of people. Satoshi and the decentralization of society are a new era and new opportunities,” he said.
In future, Satoshi Nakamoto Republic is planning to purchase a whole island to build a city there devoted to this legendary personality.
