Representatives of Tesla said that they are going to expand the world’s largest energy storage system, located in Australia in the near future.
At the moment, the capacity of this installation is 100 MW/h, after modernization, this figure will be increased by 50%, up to 150 MW/h.
Recall that during the construction of the world’s largest battery, Musk promised that his company would complete all work in no more than 100 days. Then he added that if he is late, then the local authorities will not pay a cent for the installation. As a result, the construction was completed much earlier than the deadline.
The increase in capacity will cost the Australian authorities $48 million, the construction work should end in mid-2020.
Important to note is that in the first 12 months of operation, the battery saved more than 50 million US dollars, and after modernization, this figure should improve in the corresponding percentage ratio.
