Telegram Launched Closed Testing of Blockchain Platform TON

A cross-platform messenger Telegram launched closed testing of its network Telegram Open Network. Currently, access to testing is open to a separate group of developers.

According to the news resource Vedomosti, despite the lack of test results, the TON project has already proved its ability to process transactions much faster than its competitors.

It is worth noting that the launch date of TON was postponed several times. The last date was scheduled for the beginning of 2019, but the project developers noted that a slight delay is possible.

TON Perspectives

Since digital currencies are gaining unprecedented popularity, it is logical that Telegram seeks to expand its user base by offering an innovative blockchain platform – Telegram Open Network and its own currency, the GRAM token.

Analyst Alex Sofpel from Monfex had previously predicted that the GRAM token could bring Telegram $ 4 billion in revenue by 2022.

In his bold prediction, he relies on two key assumptions. Firstly, Telegram will reach 1 billion active users by 2022, and secondly, according to Alex Sofpel, each user will generate $ 5 revenue per year compared to WeChat and Google Pay, which receive an average $ 5.60 and $ 6 from a user.
