Salesforce makes its second major acquisition in a few days, this time they are buying a major software developer ClickSoftware for $1.35 billion. Recall, most recently, Salesforce closed the largest deal – acquisition of Tableau for $15.7 billion. These acquisitions will help Salesforce expand its services and grow at a much faster pace than now.
“Our acquisition of ClickSoftware will not only accelerate the growth of Service Cloud, but drive further innovation with Field Service Lightning to better meet the needs of our customers,” – Bill Patterson, EVP and GM of Salesforce Service Cloud said in a statement announcing the deal.
It is worth remarking that ClickSoftware is older than Salesforce, it was founded back in 1997. She went a long way, was public, and then became private again, but in the end, it will be absorbed by the giant Salesforce. If everything goes according to plan, then most likely the transaction will be closed in the fall, since its participants must receive approval from the regulatory authorities.
