The two largest technology giants intend to join forces to create better integration of Windows and Android operating systems. This statement was made by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
“A new chapter of our long term commitment to improve productivity and eliminate the gap between mobile devices and the PC.”
Samsung integrated the Microsoft Your Phone application into the Galaxy Note 10. This program displays text messages in Android on the display of a Windows 10 device. In addition, Samsung integrates OneDrive synchronization directly into its own Gallery Android application. This means that photos taken on the Galaxy Note 10 will now automatically sync with OneDrive’s cloud storage service.
Using the “Your Phone” application, users will now be able to receive calls directly from their PC. It is worth remarking that this feature will be available only at the end of this year, while the sync of Mac and iPhone has been available for several years.
