Huawei CEO and founder Rén Zhèngfēi said that HarmonyOS will compete with Apple’s iOS in a few years.
Recall that HarmonyOS was introduced in early August, just in the middle of a trade war between the US and China amid US sanctions imposed on Huawei. It can be used on any type of device: a smartphone, TV, smartwatch, etc.
At the presentation, Huawei representatives promised that HarmonyOS would work outside China. Though the company smartphones still use Android (albeit open source) so far.
However, Rén Zhèngfēi is confident that it will take 2-3 years to “strengthen” HarmonyOS, and it will be able to seriously compete with the most popular operating systems on the market, including iOS from Apple in a few years.
