Apple removed an application that allowed mass protests participants in Hong Kong to track the location of police officers from the App Store – became known.
Apple conducted an investigation, having received many reviews regarding the use of an application called “HKmap.live”, which showed the locations of police on the map. The company specialists found that the use of this application threatened the security of law enforcement agencies and residents of Hong Kong. So they decided to remove the program from the App Store.
According to preliminary data, the attackers could use HKmap.live to attack the police and to plan attacks on local residents in places where were no law enforcement officers nearby.
