Google Employees Refuse to Cooperate with US Customs Service

Google employees are demanding the company not to enter into a cloud computing contract with the Customs and the US Border Protection Service because of the latest protest in technology  field.

In today`s petition distributed on Google and Medium, a group of employees said immigration officials “perpetrating a system of abuse and malign neglect” at the border.

“These abuses are illegal under international human rights law, and immoral by any standard,”– the petition reads.

Recall that many Google employees actively protested against the plan of work with the US government on an artificial intelligence system for analyzing video materials from drones, known as Project Maven. Because of this, the company’s plan was eventually delayed.
