Google Already Knows the Winner of Eurovision-2019

The technical giant analyzed the search data of competing countries, and it gained an idea of who will be given the majority of votes. As reported by The Sun edition.

Google checked the search results of competitors, having excluded requests from citizens of a competing country, for example, the British, who are looking for Michael Rice, were not taken into account.

According to the search system data, the first place will probably go to the representative from the Netherlands, Duncan Laurence. While Michael Rice, the representative of Britain, has almost no chance of winning.

“If you look at which contestants people are searching for – awarding Eurovision-style points based on search activity for other countries’ contestants – you’d find that the Netherlands is currently projected to win, followed by Russia and Italy,” Google employees state.

Interestingly, Google also compared its data with YouTube, and here the results vary significantly.

According to YouTube, the country with the most views related to Eurovision is Italy, followed by Malta and the Netherlands.

But if you exclude the country’s own views, it turns out that Malta is in the first place. Therefore, Michela Pace from Malta can become a winner with her song “Chameleon”.

Do not forget that the Grand Final will take place today, May 18, at 19:00 UTC.
