It is reported that Google is working on a new feature for the Chrome browser – reading mode for PC. The ad blocking function will be the next step of the technology giant in implementing a line of innovations aimed at improving their customers’ experience.
It is expected that the reading mode will work on various platforms, including macOS, Linux, and Windows. At the moment, the feature is only available in Chrome on Android and in the Chrome Canary browser for developers, but the company intends to provide access on all platforms without exception.
There is no exact release date yet, but according to information available now on the Web, users will be able to gain access to the update this summer.
To date, this feature is already supported by browsers Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Vivaldi. Due to its activation, users can no longer waste time removing ads and other elements from a web page, and do their things, for example, reading a book.
Not so long ago, Google added test night mode to Chrome for Android, owing to which users can change the brightness of the browser interface. The update can be downloaded by all members of the beta testing program on Google Play.
