Perhaps the most famous manufacturer of humanoid robots, the company Boston Dynamics, has shown a new version of Handle. Its main purpose is to work in logistics warehouses. The new robot is equipped with a hand-manipulator, with which it can unload and load pallets.
Experts of Boston Dynamics have posted a video demonstration of the work of the new model Handle on their official YouTube channel. In this video, you can see how two robots lift and carry 5-kilogram boxes from the pallet to the conveyor.
According to the company Boston Dynamics, the new robotic loaders will be able to lift and transport loads weighing up to 15 kilograms. The design features of the arm-manipulator allow stacking objects in a pile up to 170 centimeters high and up to 120 centimeters long. Additionally, the robot is equipped with a computer vision system, with which it can analyze the space around it: go around obstacles, look for certain objects, and also places where they need to be put. In order to maintain balance, there is a special counterweight on the tail of the Handle.
It is worth noting that this is only a laboratory sample, there is no information regarding the mass production of this model yet.
