Chinese scientists have begun to develop a new round of sixth-generation mobile communications. Specialists plan to create a national state group to carry research and development of 6G – the Science and Technology Daily, a newspaper of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China informs.
The Minister of Industry and Informatization of the People’s Republic of China, Myao Vey explained that the goal of developing a new generation of communications is “general robotization” when most processes and tasks are automated and the human factor decreases.
The new network will cover not only the surface of the Earth but also underwater. The impetus for the development of 6G was the launch of 5G across the country, which was made possible thanks to the activities of China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, the main mobile communication providers in China.
The launch of 5G was planned for next year, but due to tensions with Washington, China decided to do it now.
