The famous Winklevoss brothers became the co-founders of the new unique mining startup Crusoe, raising more than $70 million for its development.
As planned, the company’s specialists will assemble 70 modular energy blocks that will be used for mining the main cryptocurrency. The attracted capital was divided into two rounds of financing: they received $30 million during the first, and $40 million in the second.
The creators of the startup Crusoe want to solve a rather important problem, which is the flaring of gas in shale oil. According to experts, every year more than 14 billion cubic meters of gas are burned for nothing.
Crusoe intends to use about 100 million cubic meters of gas per year, which would otherwise be flaring for nothing.
