Representatives of the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced their intention to restrict access to their platform for residents of Japan in the near future. The message appeared on the company’s official website in the user support section.
To date, the reasons and time frame are unclear. The official statement says that the platform will introduce restrictions gradually, and detailed information will appear over time. Note, users from Japan can use absolutely all the functions of the site now.
Recall that in the spring of 2018, the financial regulator of Japan issued a caution to the Binance cryptocurrency exchange saying that to continue activities in Japan, the company must get an appropriate license. Just a month later, the Kraken site announced the termination of work in Japan, because it started to be too expensive to do business in this country.
Recall earlier we wrote that Japan calls for cryptocurrency regulation at the upcoming G20 summit.
