Representatives of the Bakkt cryptocurrency trading platform said they expect a record trading volume amid a massive drop in Bitcoin price. Bakkt posted its forecast about the increase in trading volume to 1,139 Bitcoins by the end of the day on Twitter:

Recall that the Bitcoin exchange rate fell from $7,988 to $7,523. At the time of preparing this post, one BTC costs $7552 (-8.26%) with a market capitalization of $136 billion.
Earlier, ICE operator of the New York Stock Exchange, which also runs Bakkt, said about intention to launch additional Bitcoin products.
Note, the launch of the Bakkt platform was not the most successful in terms of trading volumes. However, the platform began to gradually increase the volume of trading in Bitcoin futures.
